Santa Fe Jungle Carbine Conversion .303 British (04938) AUSTX

Serial No. 27689, made circa 1940s, .303 British, 20 ½” round barrel. This rifle is a Santa Fe Arms commercial conversion, reconfigured from a standard No. I Mk III Enfield into a “Jungle Carbine” style rifle for the surplus U.S. civilian market during the post-WWII period. It features a 20 ½” barrel with flash suppressor, and retains matching serial numbers on the bolt and receiver. The magazine is unmarked. The metal surfaces have worn to a dull grey patina, consistent with field use and age. The barrel is import marked. The stock is in good condition, showing light handling wear and minimal impressions. The action is smooth and functions correctly.
