Rare WWII Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 2 Paratrooper Rifle 7.7x58mm (L2026-10830)

Serial no. 9368. Manufactured circa 1943 at Nagoya Arsenal, chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, 25.5" round barrel. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling noted. Serial numbers are matching except for the dust cover, which is only 14 numbers off. Assembly numbers are matching, and the Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) remains intact on the receiver. Stock remains in very good condition with minimal handling impressions noted. The Type 2 was designed as a takedown rifle for Japanese paratroopers and was produced in limited numbers, making it one of the more desirable Type 99 variants. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
