President of Mexico Owned Smith & Wesson Pre-27 by Adolpho Lopez Mateo (L2026-09232) (Consignment) 

Serial number 81243. Made circa 1960s. This gun is in 357 caliber with an 8 3/8" barrel. This gun is in excellent condition as customized and Gold plated. The cylinder has the initials "ALM" for Adolpho Lopex Mateo. The side plate on the right hand side is marked "Fabrication Special Para/ Sr. Lie Don Adolpho Lopez Mateos/ Presidente De La Republica" President Mateo served as president from 1958—1964. He concentrated on Mexico's industries and making Mexico independent of the USA. The barrel is inscribed "Obsequio de Gonzalo N. Santos" which translates into Given by Gonzalo N. Santos. Gonzalo Santos was a member of the chamber of Deputies of Mexico. The grips are ivory with a Gold Mexican coin  and President Mateo's Initials. Very fine historic Gun!
