Serial No. 144817, manufactured in 1920 by Colt’s Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company, .45 ACP, 5½” round barrel. Retains approximately 90% of the original finish. Underside of the barrel is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”; underside of the grip strap is marked “U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1917 / NO. / 144 / 817.” Grips show expected handling impressions consistent with age and service. Action indexes correctly with a tight lock-up. A well-preserved example of a Colt Model 1917 revolver, produced immediately after WWI for continued U.S. military service.
