Serial No. pp973, manufactured 1886, 8x60mmR, 32¾” round barrel. Serial numbers on the bolt are non-matching to the receiver. Metal shows an even brown/grey patina, with the receiver’s original blue beginning to thin to grey in places. Stock is in very good condition with light handling marks and a sharp cartouche visible. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A well-preserved example of the Kropatchek pattern Portuguese service rifle, notable for its Steyr manufacture and attractive original finish.
