Serial no. K1450. Manufactured circa 1904 and later converted to 8mm, 24" round barrel.
The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching. This rifle was refurbished and converted to 8mm during Portugal’s interwar modernization program, adapting earlier Model 1904 rifles to updated military standards. The receiver retains a handsome King Carlos I crest, remaining clear and well-defined. The stock is good, showing minimal handling impressions and presenting very well overall. The Model 1904/39 represents a unique hybrid design combining Mauser and Mannlicher influences, making it a distinctive and desirable variant among early 20th century military rifles. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly. The rifle is accompanied by a bayonet marked “Simson & Co./ Suhl
