Persian M49 carbine 7.92×57mm (L2025-10971)

Serial number 26899 (in Persian Farsi numerals). Made in 1950 with a 19-inch barrel that has a bright bore with strong visible rifling. This 5-shot manually operated bolt action carbine's design was based on the Czech ZB vz. 33 Mauser & was produced domestically in Persia prior to the 1953 Iranian coup d'état. Condition overall is very good with thinning original factory blued finish across the metallic parts that has oxidized in a few isolated locations on the receiver, the barrel, & the butt plate. The beech wood furniture is in great shape except for a few areas that reveal handling wear consistent with military service. Comes with a reproduction Kar98k leather sling & a 15.5-inch cleaning rod.
