Horse man's pistols for saddle holsters. The lock plates are marked "L. Lecomte" on both. Barrels have a crown over "E" which is a provisional proof. L. Lecomte worked in Liege in 1720-1760. This fine pair have been expertly converted to percussion. The conversion probably was done around the 1830's which coincides with the provisional barrel proof. Barrels are .65 caliber smooth bore. Barrel length is 12.5"; overall length is 19.5". Both pistols are in similar condition. Trigger guards have the initials "DM" next to the the finials. The stocks are relief carved around the locks and side plates. Brass parts have a beautiful patina. These pistols are in very good plus condition overall.
