New York Engraved Winchester 1866 Musket (59652)

Serial number 92463. Made in 1872. 44RF caliber with a 27” barrel. The receiver is superbly engraved. The side plates have vinal scrolls and the frames havboth a cross hatch patter and scrolls within a border. The top of the frame is actually high relief chiseled. The engraving is period and is superb quality. The butt plate also is engraved mostly with cross hatching. The barrel has 75%-80% of the original mottled blue finish.  All markings are perfectly legible. The is excellent as refinished during the period of use with a lighter color stain and varnish. Very attractive 1866 Musket!
