Serial number 63404. Made in 1888. 41 Colt caliber with a 5” barrel. This is a New York engraved Colt 1877 Thunderer. It was sold and shipped to Schoverling Daly & Gales. The engraving looks very similar to Hartley & Graham engraving and very well could have been completed by an engraver who worked for both firms. This gun has a dark gray patina that almost looks to be a silver plated finish. This gun was cleaned at some point long ago and does not have any of the original finish. The grips are thick two piece pearls. Accompanying this gun is a factory letter. This gun came from the Bob Green collection from Mexico City and most likely was found in Mexico. Bob Green as the former president of Tupperware in Mexico from the 1960s –1980s and amassed a gun collection in the thousands mostly of guns found in Mexico.
