Serial number 70. Made circa 1857-1860. 41 Rocket ball caliber with a 21” barrel. This is a scarcer barrel length than you typically see. The barrel has been refinished. The frame is very good. The stock is a well made copy. The bore is dark with pitting, but does have strong visible rifling. The Volcanic carbine was an important step in developing the Winchester Rifle!
