NSN. Made circa 1660-1670. 57.5 caliber with a 26” barrel. This is a very fine example of a Dutch or German military Wheellock carbine. While it is military, there are still embellishments such as the bone tips on the forearm and ram rod tip as well as the screw collars opposite of the lock plate. The stock also has relief carved scrolls near the cheek piece and near the upper tang. This is a very sharp gun in the white. There is a repair from near the comb to midway through the butt of the stock. It is almost indetectable. Engraved on the butt plate is “No 37” indicating a military gun and this is the rack number. This is a later gun being made around 1660. At this period, the stock design and shortness of the barrel as well as a swamped muzzle give this a Jaeger Rifle appearance. Very Fine unique Dutch Wheellock Military Carbine!
