Serial number 7801. Made circa 1880s. 44 Remington Caliber with a 6” barrel that has been shortened. This is a rare Mexican military contract. Only 1,000 guns were purchase in this contract. The barrel has the sun burst marking near the frame and both the frame and the cylinder have the “R de M” markings which stands for Republic of Mexico. The grips are replacements. Very hard to find Mexican marked Remington 1875.
