Serial No. 3736i, made in 1940, 9mm,9.9" round barrel. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling visible. The 1940-dated Merz Wek MP40 SMG in overall excellent condition with one 1940-dated Steyr slab-sided 32-round magazine (marked “MP.38 u. 40” as well as 98E) and an original leather sling in excellent condition. The Bakelite lower and grips are in excellent condition as is the resting bar. The barrel is marked 3736i and it has a mirror bore. Buttstock has very a firm lock-up. Although the gun is non-matching, it is nevertheless an excellent example of the best-known German World War II firearm. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
