Merwin and Hulbert 1st Model Open Top .44-40 caliber revolver. Very fine condition. Gun has 85% original nickel but has the appearance of closer to 95% as the areas lacking finish have been cleaned in such a way that the bare metal blends well with the finish. This is the early model with the scooped cylinder, open top with the birds head butt. All numbers match. Bore has strong rifling and is on the dark side with areas of light pitting.
