The Mauser byf Code 42 date Black Widow has five key features: 1. byf toggle inscription; 2. 42 chamber date; 3. Black plastic grips; 4. Military acceptance and proof marks; and 5. No sear safety. This gun exhibits these five features. This matching rig comes with two correct unnumbered fxo magazines, a tool, and a 1938 holster. The 4" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun has approx 95% blue with the grip straps fading and edge wear. In addition to the chamber and toggle markings, the left rear frame is marked P.08 and the right side of the receiver has two eagle over 135 inspection marks and the eagle test fire proof. All parts, including the firing pin, are matching. The unnumbered black plastic grips are very good with the right panel being excellent and the left is very good with some bruising. The action functions correctly. The brown holster is very good with light to moderate crazing on the front. As noted, it has a correct unnumbered fxo spare magazine and a tool. The holster is marked on the reverse with a small round makers mark, an inspection eagle, and a 1938 date. This is a great all matching byf 42 Black Widow rig.
