Serial No. d2483, made in 1893, 7.65x53mm, 29” round barrel. This early production Mauser Model 1891 rifle was manufactured by Ludwig Loewe & Co. of Berlin under contract for the Argentine government. This example bears matching serial numbers throughout except for the bolt, a common occurrence due to later field replacements. The receiver shows a thinning grey patina, and the Argentine crest removed. The stock has been lightly refurbished and exhibits minimal handling impressions. This example functions mechanically as intended, and the action is smooth.
