Serial Number 1295546. Made in 1928 with a June 1928 dated 24-inch Springfield Armory star gauged National Match barrel with a bright bore that has strong visible rifling. The polished bolt is electro pencil numbered to the receiver serial number. Rifle is equipped with the Lyman 48C receiver mounted target type micrometer rear sight assembly & the stock is in excellent condition with a sans serif "P" on the front of the pistol grip. The receiver is drilled & tapped with a short base over the Springfield Armory roll mark & another shorter base 8-inches in front of that. Comes with a checkered butt plate. This rifle is one of 4496 examples of the M1903 Sporter made by Springfield from 1923 to 1938 & then sold to National Rifle Association members.
