NSN. Made Circa 1835. 65 caliber with a 8” barrel. This is a very well made early percussion pistol. The barrel was original browned with a Damascus pattern  that has faded into a dark gray patina with the Damascus pattern still visible. At the end of the barrel is the maker’s sink in gold and a gold barrel band behind it. Around the maker’s sink and along the upper tang is tight scroll engraving as is on the lock plate. The lock is marked “W. PARKER”  The to[p of the gun is marked “MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY” The metal is all nice and sharp. There wood has had a coast of varnish applied. W Parker worked at 233 High Holborn, 1793-1841; 10 Chamber Street 1839 - 41. Gunmaker to the Duke of Kent, Prince Edward and William IV. He held contracts to ordnance, East India Company and The Hudson's Bay Company. Supplied arms to the London Police from 1803 and Metropolitan Police from 1829. Died aged 68 in 1841. Succeeded by Park Field and Sons.
