Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Series 5 Cavalry Carbine 6.5mm (L2026-07549)

Serial no. 5978. Manufactured circa 1930s by Nagoya Arsenal, Series 5, chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka,19" round barrel. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching. The imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) has been removed. The carbine remains in overall very good condition, showing only minimal handling impressions. Japanese cavalry carbines were designed to provide mounted troops with a compact and handy firearm while retaining the reliability and durability of the Type 38 action. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
