Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal (Tokyo) Series 24 Type 38 Bolt Action Rifle 6.5x50 (L2025-11992)

Serial No. 05119, manufactured circa 1930s, 6.5x50mm Arisaka, 31½” round barrel. Serial number has had a zero added to the front, indicating the rifle was removed from Imperial Japanese Army service. Many such examples were subsequently redesignated for school or civilian training use. Serial numbers are matching throughout, except for the dust cover. Stock has been refinished at some point. Action is smooth and functions correctly. An interesting and representative example of a decommissioned Koishikawa Arsenal Type 38 rifle, reflecting Japan’s practice of repurposing military arms for educational and civil institutions.
