NSN, circa 18th century, .70 caliber, 45 ½ “barrel. Barrel is fluted 12” from the breech then goes to round. The cannon style muzzle is fluted for approximately 4”. Inside the flutes are gold damascening. Barrel is held in place with seven brass barrel bands. Metal is a dark brown patina with light oxidation noted on the surface. Five-sided stock has a light coat of varnish applied with old repairs and cracks visible on the right side. Action functions but is loose.
