Imperial German Spandau Model 1871/84 Bolt Action Rifle 11mm Mauser (77746)
Price: $1,295.00
Item Number: 77746
Houston Location.
In stock
Serial no. 8602. Manufactured in 1888 at the Imperial Arsenal at Spandau, chambered in 11mm Mauser, 32" round barrel. Bore shows scattered oxidation in the grooves, while the rifling remains strong and well defined. Serial numbers are matching throughout, including the screws on the trigger guard, an especially desirable feature on a surviving military rifle of this age. The stock remains in very good condition with minimal handling impressions and handsome Imperial cartouches still clearly visible. The Model 1871/84 was Germany’s first repeating military rifle, utilizing an eight-round tubular magazine and representing the final development of the black-powder Mauser service rifle before adoption of the Model 1888 Commission Rifle. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
