Imperial German Amberg Arsenal Model 1871 Bolt Action Rifle 11mm (52091)

Serial no. 66474. Manufactured in 1878 at the Amberg Arsenal, chambered in 11mm,33 ½" round barrel. The bore is bright with light frosting noted in the grooves while the rifling remains strong and well-defined. Serial numbers are mostly matching with the exception of the barrel bands and trigger guard screw. The metal surfaces have aged to an even grey patina with scattered areas of mottled oxidation consistent with age. A faint regimental marking is present on the buttplate, adding to the rifle’s period character. The stock shows expected handling and service impressions. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
