NSN, circa early 1800’s .62 caliber,9 ½” round barrel. 15” in overall length. Brass frame and barrel shroud decorated with a floral pattern. Pistol was converted from flintlock to percussion. This “Greek” pistol is decorated in a style common to the mountainous area of Souli. The Souliotes were Orthodox Christians and were fierce warriors. They were opposed to the rule of the Ottoman Emperor Ali Pasha at that time, Souli is now in modern Thesprotia, Greece.
