German WW2 Volksturm Armband (12343629)

The Deutscher Volksturm ("People's Assault Troops") was a National Socialist paramilitary militia, created during the closing months of the Second World War by decree of Adolf Hitler on October 18, 1944. All the able-bodied men between the ages of 16 and 60 were called to arms with the hopes that they would change the outcome of the war. This type of armband was issued to members as a means of identifying them as they often wore civilian clothes instead of uniforms. It was made using the "BeVo" (Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher) machine-weaving technique & it is in unissued condition.
