Serial No. 82832, manufactured in 1880, chambered in 11x59mmR with a 32 ½” round barrel. Bore is very good with strong, well-defined rifling. Serial numbers are non-matching. Metal surfaces have aged to a smooth, dull dark grey patina consistent with long service. The stock shows expected handling and service marks, with period-carved initials present on both sides of the butt, adding character and individuality to the piece. Overall, it remains a solid example of France’s primary service rifle of the late 19th century. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
