SN: 18868 made pre-1937. Lever action rifle chambered in .22 short, long & long rifle with a 24” octagon barrel with a Parker Hale front globe sight, factory dovetailed rear sight and an added Lyman tang aperture sight. High figured American walnut stock and forearm with hand cut checkering and the factory Marlin butt plate. The receiver is factory engraved and silver plated depicting a full body elk on one side and a bear on the other with Germanic style oak leaves and scroll filling in the space around the game scenes. Some scroll is also seen on the lever as well as the forend cap which are also plated to match. Bore is in very good condition, the bluing is very strong and in near excellent condition for its age. The plating on the receiver has some light tarnish but in very good condition and the furniture is in good condition with some small dents and handling marks. Overall a very rare factory engraved Marlin in exceptional condition for its age.
