Serial number KE-3. Made circa early 1990s. 44 Magnum caliber with a 5.5” barrel. This is a one of a kind revolver that was made as a prototype for a possible future production. It is in excellent condition with no visible handling wear on either the stainless steel metal or the one piece grips. The grips were made by grip maker Bill Konig. This gun is masterfully engraved by Terry Wallace. The backstrap is inscribed to “Big Al DiPrima” Al Diprima had an ownership interest in Texas Longhorn Arms and came up with this design. He wanted the barrel ported with a ring profile muzzle. He also wanted this to have express adjustable sights similar to a double rifle. The top of the barrel is marked “Grover’s Number Five Express” This gun was being made alongside to copy of Elmer Keith’s No. 5. The Texas Longhorn Arms guns were of the highest quality, but could never get into full production mode. They took the Colt Single Action Army design and postulated this was a continuation of all of the Sam Colt Percussion revolvers with a left hand design and they were going to make a Single Action with a right hand design. This is a one of a kind unique gun with absolutely fantastic engraving.
