Serial number C Company 147. Made in 1847. 44 Caliber with a 3.25” barrel. This is one of the most unique Colt Walkers we have owned. The cylinder of this walker has period engraving around the nipples making it one of three Colt Walkers that we know to have period engraving. The barrel was shortened to 3.25”, but this was very professionally done with a flared muzzle  and professionally mounted front sight. This gun is in extremely fine condition for a Colt Walker. All of the markings are sharp and clear. Most importantly, this gun has most of its original cylinder scene. The grips are very good overall showing normal handling wear. The two corners where the trigger guard meets the backstrap are missing from during the period of use. The action works perfectly and the bore is excellent. This is a very unique example of the legendary Colt Walker. In is engraved and turned into a belly gun configuration. This gun comes with a period holster that fits the walker perfectly except the barrel portion is longer in the holster. These guns were originally issued to the Texas Rangers and C company guns are particularly desirable as this was Captain Sam Walker’s company the the very first company to receive Colt Walkers.
