Early WWII Nagoya Arsenal 1st Series Type 99 Bolt Action Rifle 7.7x58mm (L2026-10797)

Serial no. 22786. Manufactured circa 1941 at Nagoya Arsenal, chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, 26" round barrel. Bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. The bolt is non-matching, while the bayonet lug is matching to the receiver. The original finish is beginning to thin, primarily around the receiver, while the factory markings remain clearly visible. Of particular interest, the Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) remains fully intact, and the rifle retains both its anti-aircraft rear sight wings and original monopod.The early two-piece wooden stock displays the characteristic dual drain holes and has had a light coat of linseed oil applied. The rifle is accompanied by a sling. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
