Serial No. 43617, manufactured in 1904, chambered in .30-06, featuring a 24” round barrel marked “S.A./Flaming Bomb/7-09.” This early example is fitted with a scarce S-type straight stock without grasping grooves, commonly associated with early Remington 1903 rifles. Metal finish has thinned to an even brown/grey patina. Stock remains very good, showing light impression marks from service use. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Rifle comes with a period-correct brown leather sling.A fine and increasingly difficult-to-find early production 1903, showcasing transitional features just before major wartime updates were implemented.
