Early Colt 1860 Fluted Army Civil War Era (65729)

SN: 956. Made in 1860, which is the first year of production. 44 caliber with an 8” barrel. This is a very sharp gun that has had the metal (and presumably finish) lightly cleaned long ago. The metal has a smooth gray patina throughout with nice sharp markings. The grips still retain at least 70% of the original varnish. The back strap and trigger guard still have most of their silver finish. This gun is cut for stock and has the four screw frame. The action is crisp and indexes properly. Some of these guns have very interesting shipping addressed including Southern purchases. Very fine example of a Colt Fluted Army!
