SN: 60698 made in 1912 in Philadelphia PA. 12 gauge side by side with 28” barrels with a single silver bead and 2 ¾” chambers choked Improved Cylinder and Full (.011/.035). Box lock with extractors and double triggers. This action features a recessed hinge pin similar to that used by Parker Bros. which was only used for less than the first 3 years of production of the Sterlingworth. In late 1912 the design changed to the flush fit hinge pin seen for the rest of production. LOP measures 14 ¼” to a period style but slightly undersized butt plate and the drop measures 1 5/8” to 3”. Bores are in very good condition with no pitting or dents and the barrels retain about 90% of their original bluing with some minor wear and handling marks. The stock and forearm are both original finish and original checkering and are in good condition with normal handling marks and minor blemishes expected with a gun of this age. The action retains about 60% of the original case color and the trigger plate retains most of its original colors which is seldom seen on vintage American field guns. Barrels are tight on face and action locks up tight with the top lever resting right of center. Overall weight is 6 lbs 15 oz.
