DWM Gew98 rifle 7.92×57mm (L2025-11930)

Serial number 3945. Made by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken ("DWM") in 1907 with a 29-inch barrel that has strong visible rifling. Although this is a mismatched Mauser Gew98, it is nevertheless in very good condition with thinning original factory blued finish across the metal parts & wood furniture that exhibits only minor handling wear. The right side of the receiver is marked "FOX STUDIO" & the stock is similarly marked as well indicating that the rifle was acquired by the studio's armory during the interwar years. Equipped with the famous lange vizier "roller coaster" adjustable rear sight assembly. An excellent example of the rifle that fought for the Kaiser's army during the Great World War & then served on in the motion picture industry.
