Double-Date Mauser Gew. 98 Bolt Action Rifle – 8mm Mauser (L2025-11646)

Serial No. 6532, manufactured in 1918, 8mm Mauser, 29½” round barrel. Bolt is non-matching. Metal has developed an even dull grey patina throughout. Receiver is double-dated “1920” and “1918,” the later marking signifying reissue for German military use following the First World War. Stock exhibits honest handling wear from wartime and postwar service, and retains its unit disc marked “71.R.7.68.” Rear sight has been arsenal upgraded. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A well-preserved and historically significant example of a Weimar-period reissued Gewehr 98, representing Germany’s transitional armament following the Treaty of Versailles.
