Commercial M1 Carbine .22 Caliber (L2026-06703)

Serial no. 1264. Manufactured circa 1960s, chambered in .22 caliber,18 ¼" round barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. This rifle utilizes a .22 caliber action fitted into an M2-style potbelly stock, giving it the appearance and handling characteristics of a U.S. M1 Carbine. The magazine consists of a 10-round .22 caliber insert secured within a gutted .30 Carbine magazine body. The receiver is simply marked “1264.” Commercial and conversion carbines such as this became popular during the post-war surplus era, offering inexpensive recreational shooting while maintaining the familiar look and feel of the wartime M1 Carbine platform. The action is smooth and functions correctly.
