Previously sold
Colt Single Action Army Black Powder Frame revolver. Excellent condition. Made in 1876. This gun has 95% of the nickel finish. Most nickel guns from this period will letter blue because the New York retailers would buy the guns from Colt, chemically strip the blue and case colors, and plate it in nickel. Colt offered their guns in nickel, but the New York retailers could finish the gun more cheaply than what it would cost buying the gun from Colt with factory plating. The wood grips still have the original varnish. This is an early gun with a two line patent address on the left hand side of the frame. Bore is excellent. Gun is in excellent condition original condition. Comes with a factory letter shipped to H. D. Folsom in New York.
