Serial number W99802. Made in 1918 with a 5-inch barrel that has a bright bore with strong visible rifling. This example is chambered for the .455 Webley Auto Mk I cartridge & is marked “GOVERNMENT MODEL / W99802” on the right side of the frame. The right side of the slide is marked “COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 455” & the left side is marked “PATENTED APR.20,1897. SEPT.9,1902 / DEC.19,1905. FEB.14,1911. AUG. 19, 1913”, with a rampant colt & “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” The left side of the trigger guard has “VP” in triangle mark as well as a crown over T9. Just above that are broad arrow & crossed pennants British government acceptance marks. Condition overall is excellent with original black factory finish across the metallic parts that has developed some speckling on both sides of the slide. Comes with a lanyard loop 7-round magazine marked "CAL.455 ELEY" on the floorplate & a pair of original "diamond" wood grips.
