British Martini-Henry Mk II Short Lever, .22 Conversion – .22 Caliber (59257)

Metal surfaces have aged to a predominantly grey patina, with traces of original blue remaining in protected areas. The barrel is marked “W.W. GREENER MAKER BIRMINGHAM,” with the top of the breech additionally stamped “AMMUNITION / .22.” The left side of the receiver is clearly marked “Converted for the N.R.A. by W.W. Greener / 8377,” indicating a period small-bore training conversion by the noted Birmingham maker. The stock remains in good condition, showing expected light handling marks and retaining a handsome cartouche. A small token is screwed into the stock and marked “gesetzlich geschützt,” translating to “legally protected,” suggesting the rifle was likely registered in Germany during the early 20th century.
