Serial No. G34689, originally manufactured circa early 1944 as a No.4 Mk.I(T) and later upgraded to L42A1 configuration in the 1960s for continued British military sniper use. Chambered in .308 Winchester (7.62 NATO), the rifle features a 27 ¾” heavy round barrel optimized for accuracy. Bolt and receiver serial numbers are matching, confirming core component integrity. The scope and mount are non-matching: scope is marked AK&S – No. 28798 / 1946, and the scope mount bears an electric pencil-engraved serial number 39828. Despite the mismatched numbers, the optic remains sharp and clear, retaining full functionality. The stock is in excellent condition, showing only minimal signs of handling or wear. Action is smooth and functions correctly, consistent with the high-quality conversions carried out by Enfield armorers during the L42A1 program. Only an estimated 400 L42A1 rifles were imported into the United States during the 1980s by Navy Arms, making this a rare and desirable sniper rifle with strong historical ties to both WWII and Cold War-era British forces
