British Brown Bess 2nd Model. British Brown Bess 2nd Model with 42” barrel. Lock marked “Richard”. Barrel has Birmingham proofs with a pleasing light patina. The stock is very good plus with no breaks or crack or repairs. Buttplate is marked “18”. No “Crown GR” marking. We believe this to be a private purchase for yeomanry or private militia. Very fine condition 2nd Model Bess.
