Beautiful Pair of French Flintlock (AH5716)

Beautiful Pair of French Flintlock pistols. Barrels marked Canon Tordu Ler Etoffe. Barrels are rifled with multi grooves. Barrels are 8 ½” length and 15” overall. Barrel are Swamped (FLared) at the muzzle. Barrels have a fixed rear sight with a fine folding rear sight behind. The pan is double bridled. Bottom of locks are marked St. Etienne on the Beveled edge. This very fine pair is Silver Mounted with “long ear” Butt caps with the cap face being a panoply of arms (Swords and Drums) The pair is expertly silver wire inlaid. Note: That the silver wire and leaf and floral inlays are flush to the stocks. NO loose or protruding wire or inlay as is often the case on many fine pistolst Some of the silver is polished and some is tarnished. We laft the tarnish as is but you can carefully polish it with silver cloth if you wish. The locks work perfectly. This is very fine pair of pistols and were a cased set at one time. Note that ramrods are carved as part of the forend.
