No Serial Number, circa 19th century. Chambered in .68 caliber with a 38” Turkish octagonal Damascus steel barrel, featuring gold inlaid floral patterns at the breech, muzzle, and muzzle crown. Barrel is secured with four thin barrel bands, and the ramrod is also decorated with gold inlays. Stock is in very good condition, richly adorned with mother-of-pearl inlays throughout. Horn butt plate shows light handling marks. Lock plate is stamped “1857 / Tower,” with the rear marked “CROWN / V.R.”. Action holds at half and full cock. Rifle is complete with a black leather sling, showing honest wear consistent with desert use.
