No Serial Number, circa 19th century. Chambered in .60 caliber with a 43 ½” round barrel featuring a swamped muzzle. Barrel has a light grey patina with areas of mottled brown. Secured with ten brass bands. Lock plate is dated 1783 and bears the East India Trade Company logo; front of the lock is marked “IODER”. Stock is in very good condition overall, with a repaired crack visible at the rear of the lock plate. Three aged brass sheets are affixed to portions of the stock. Rear of the stock is curved and decorated with mother-of-pearl and geometric brass inlays. Action holds at half and full cock, and musket includes a period-correct original sling. Overall length measures 57 ½”. A well-preserved example of a traditional Afghan Jezail.
