A rare presentation arrowhead. A large, broad leaf shaped arrowhead with central Inume (Boars Eye). Signed on both shoulders: Iwami (No) Kami Fujiwara Kunisuke. Signed on the tang: Ganshu Wakahara Ju’ C Mon (No) Jo Taira (No) Ason Yoshishige Keihaku Hoai Aiganzan Shogun Jizo Daigongen Bu’un Chokyo Nyoi Monzoku Inoridokoro Itsui No Vchi and dated Toki Kanei Ju Roku Tsuchinoto U Reki Shogatsu Nijuyonichi (January 24, 1639). Arrowhead is 6 1/4” long (16cm) And 17” long overall (43.1cm). In Shirasaya lengthy inscription states that this piece was presented to the Shrine of Jizo Daigongen (War God) for continued victory in war. The donor, Wakayama Yoshishige, presented this Yanone on January 24, 1639 after the Tokugawa Shogunate consolidated power and unified the country. With certificate issued by Toensha dated August of 1977.
