U.S. Remington Lee Model 1885 .45-70 caliber rifle. James Paris Lee’s third design off the detachable box magazine rifle. This rifle is Navy marked and serial number is 1622. Metal has grey patina. Stock shows usage and storage wear. Bore is bright with a minor area of frosting. Magazine is the Lee-Cook design that holds five-rounds of .45-70 Govt caliber. Rifle were used during the Spanish-American War by the Navy and Marines! This rifle design would develop in to the SMLE!
