Very Fine U.S. Model 1866 Springfield 2nd Allin Conversion Trapdoor .50-70 caliber rifle. Barrel has bright finish with surface staining. Breech is black. Lock plate is dated 1864 and has 98% original case coloring. Stock has minor handling and storage wear. The 1866 proved itself during the Wagon Box and Hayfield fight in 1867!
