Winchester 1st model Hotchkiss with Frontier alterations. This gun came out of a collection in Minnesota. Buttplate on this gun is a replacement and slightly oversized. Barrel band is missing and gun is held together with old copper wire which was a common practice of repairing wood on the frontier. Pewter forend cap was also add which gives this gun the appearance of a 2nd model. Very colorful gun.
