Made circa 1800. 65 caliber with a 14 ½” barrel.  The lock and barrel are both marked Penzetter. The metal has a gray to brown mottled patina with some pitting The stock has been shortened along the under side of the barrel. This is a banana shaped lock which you typically see on earlier guns. The trigger guard is broken at the base tang and the escutcheon is missing from the top wrist. The side plate is the serpentine style that you normally find on the trade muskets. Not many trade pistols were made like this. This gun is untouched and without restoration!
